Is there any legit profitable home Businesses that I can start! NOT JOB! NO SCAMS?

I am seeking information from expierenced online business owners! I have been researching business for some time now. It's hard to find legit information on starting a real online business. If you have expierence in running your own legit business online people suggest some businesses I can start. I don't want anyting to do with MLM, Cold calls, sign on fees ext.

Confused about college major/specializations?

I went over a list online of majors offered in most colleges. I click on one and it would give me a list of "specializations" and courses to take for the major and potential jobs. i.e. Click on "Business" major, it gives me a list of specializations such as Accounting, Marketing, Finance, etc. How do specializations work? I thought we just picked a Major, and signed up for classes. With specializations, do we have to pick one and then get certain classes for it?

Anyways, I'm interested in Forensic Science and Psychology. Not sure how to work out the major/minor or double major thing yet but do I choose Criminal Justice or Science and Math as my major if I want to become a forensic psychologist / psychologist profiler? On the website, it had forensic science as a specialization in both of the majors. Or is forensic science a major all on its own? I'm a little ignorant when it comes to how this stuff works unfortunately.

Career as an Actuary?

I received a Bachelor of Science in Economics with honors last December. I was only one class away from a minor in Mathematics...I took Calculus 1-3, Differential Equations, and other quantitative classes like Mathematical Economics, Econometrics. I want a career that pays well and one where I have the autonomy to control my advancement, so being an Actuary appeals to me. While I do not have all of the stats background I need, I am currently taking online exam prep seminars to augment my knowledge.

1. How much can Fellows of the CAS of SOA make? I have heard that with salary, bonuses, incentives it can total around $150,000.

2. Would you say this is a career field where I can control my advancement (by passing exams)?

3. Is this a career that has a great earnings/work ratio? High salary but 8 to 5 job once you pass exams...compared to a doctor who has a high salary but a lot of hours.

4. Will I be able to use my business knowledge in the actuarial field?

5. Is it true that this is a low stress job?

Is it better to take my wedding gift to the reception or having it shipped to their home?

Whenever I go to a wedding the table is full of gifts people bring, the wedding is Saturday and I haven't purchased it from the Macys registry yet. Should I just go to the store and buy it and take it with me to the wedding, or purchase it online - says it ships out in 2 business days so on Friday and have it shipped to their house instead? Last time I sent it to the home I never got a thank you card so I wonder if they lost track of who bought what or it got misplaced so not sure what's the best thing to do.

What is it like to 'play' with a married couple?

I met a couple online that wants me to join them for sex. I've talked to them both on the phone and they seem like pretty cool people. Laid back, good senses of humor. I was like, ''Hey, here's some people I can have a good time with!'' Today, they e-mailed me a 'list of demands', so to speak. I have to divulge my medical records, I have to leave as soon as the fun is over, and I'm not allowed to contact them... they will contact me.

This all seems like more of a 'business arrangement' than a good time. Is this the norm for couples who want to include a third party? I understand having rules, but doesn't making the whole thing so structured take away from the excitement?

Can a sex offender live a normal, Productive life?

My brother was recently involved in owning things on his computer he shouldn't have owned. The ICE homeland security seized his computer, and it does have some bad things on it.

My brother confessed and our whole house cooperated with the agents, and now we are waiting for the legal side of things.

My brother and I are wondering, if he has to register as a sex offender, even the level one, not likely to re-offend, how normal of a life will he be able to live.

Would he ever be able to have children, go to shopping malls, or play online video games (PS3/ Xbox 360). He has also always been interested in owning a business, most likely a restaraunt. Can he do this as a sex offender.

By the way, he has no priors, and we live in North East Minnesota, and he is only 20.

I'm not defending what he did, but I want to know if after rehabilitation and having to register, how things might be for him.

I'm looking for an RSS feed or email updates from a service that tracks executives promotions and new hires. Primarily in the corporate space, fortune 5000. For example who's the new CEO of IBM, who got promoted to CMO for Sun, who joined the board of directors of Cisco. It would be great if this source could be filtered by region.

Text in an image to preserve font online?

I'm currently in the process of creating a website for a friend based on their design specification.

They use a font that is very much an integral part of their business identity (on the site it is used for all text), the problem is that the font is not a web standard.

I thought of preserving the font by using it as an image, but realise that this will mean the text will not be picked up by search engines. I could make it a Flash site but prefer HTML as it is more open to people (Flash doesn't work on iPhones and you don't need to download a player?).

I also considered hiding the text using CSS but don't know if that's allowed.

What is the best method to use to retain the font? Should I just use a standard font such as Arial or Verdana for the main text and keep the other font for the rest (buttons, logo etc.)?

this guy added me on fb, he was in my school. we chatted and got off quite well. but after that, when i saw him in school, i feel kind of sick. he just keep looking at me, smiling. i felt so freaked out. when i'm online in fb, he will talk nonstop and he is so irritating and keep on asking me questions which are none of his business. he once told me he tried to say hi to me in school, but got butterflies in his stomach. i know what he mean. after that he followed me, like buying the same keychain as mine which i hung at my bag and putting the same last name in facebook. my last time is not the real one, but he copied. i felt so disgusted you know :/ do he like me? what are the ways to get him off my back?

We cannot do good things for humanity and society by doing good things for humanity and society - We can only do good things for humanity and society by doing harmful things to humanity and society while doing good things for business, because god forbid we should ever conduct ourselves like sympathetic humans or a cooperative society. The only difference I see between liberal and conservative any more is that liberals are generally hypocritical and dishonest enough to convince themselves they actually care about humanity and society.

When the only point of contention between our 'liberals' and our conservatives is over the technicalities of how best to harm humanity, and how most efficiently and effectively to serve business with the sacrifice of society, where in this system does any form of representation occur for humanity and society?

Is the conversation over? Are we ever even going talk about 'society' again, or is it all about nothing but business from now on regardless of 'liberal' and 'conservative' associations? Is it time to officially pronounce society dead beyond possibility of resurrection?
Alan: -and even when Cameron says 'big society', with the underlying 'volunteerism' he is just regurgitating yet more of the same Ayn Rand objectivism/liberatrian garbage made famous by Thatcher and Reagan. Precisely my point with Obama: new improved words / same old antisocial agenda. It is as if society is not even a legitimate subject of conversation any more. Hey! I'm going job hunting tomorrow, and I'm looking for tips on what I should wear? I'm 17, just graduated high school and i'm now looking for a part time job while i'm waiting for the university that I want to accept me. I'm going to be applying to retail stores.

I looked for tips online but all they gave me where very high end and business like wear for example, a blazer and skirt, and I don't think that's very ideal for me, since I am young and I'm not exactly going for a job in an office.
