Hi there, where have you applied? McDonalds or any of the fastfood joints are usually quite good. Or local cafes/restaurants. Another option is to look into some voluntary work at places like St Vinnies or Lifeline etc just to get you some Australian experience and to get to know people.

Also, what sort of work are you looking for? Its hard to apply for work that you are not qualified for. You really cannot afford to be fussy, and just take any opportunity that comes your way.
