Answer #1:
if you are operating in the US you will pay income taxes on your income in this country during the time you are here conducting the businessyou very likely are a sole proprietor, and that would be sch C, if you do not intend to remain in the US you may be able request a waiver of the self employment taxes
Answer #2:
You would be required to pay U.S. federal income tax, U.S. self-employment tax, and California state income tax. Additionally, because your business would have a nexus in California, all of its future sales to CA residents, even of things posted you posted in Australia, would be subject to California sales tax.Answer #3:
Dear L to D: Living in the US, doing business in the US = Paying taxes in the US!If you are a resident of Australia you will file US form 1040NR (non-resident). I am not familiar with Australian law to know if you escape their taxes while you are out of the country. Also you maybe required to obtain a CA sales tax license if you sell any goods inside the state of CA. See www.cadeptoftaxation.gov.

Answer #4:
Technically, Yes!You established a business presence in the state of CA and operate a business there. You are IN the United States so any income earned HERE is taxed here, federal and state.
Now, the issues are:
1. Are you incorporated?
- If yes, then you'll need to file a Business return.
- It depends on what type of bus. entity you are.
- If no, then you'd file a Form 1040 along with Schedule C where you report your income and Form 1040 is a "summary" form.
