Question: Does copying aspects of another website constitute plagiarism?

( Back )

Answer #1:

As long as you don't use any logos, or word-for-word descriptions or ideas on your website, there is no plagiarism.

Answer #2:

You most likely don't have to worry about plagiarism unless you are planning on copying articles either whole or in part from the other site, it is copyright infringement that could land you in hot water.
Using the other sites art work or intellectual property could result in a copyright violation lawsuit being filed. Any type of reverse engineering could violate copyright and patents if applicable. If you avoid these things and are clearly not trying to confuse the other sites existing clients through your sites design and name you should be fine.
